Advanced Course Neuroendocrinology, Aging and Obesity

Objectives:

This course aims to introduce the basis of the neuroendocrine system in order to promote learning into the interplay between the endocrine and nervous systems and adipose tissue that controls important body processes such as energy balance regulation. The effect of aging related to this interplay will be also addressed. This module will consist of plenary lectures, which are expected to be interactive with the students. Speakers will be asked to introduce their topics in a general manner and then elaborate on their most recent data. The time schedule of activities will be set to leave sufficient time for self research to allow preparation of paper followed by short research project which presentation and discussion will be the basis for the evaluation of performance. A final written examination will complement the evaluation.
