Apply now to the 9th Edition of the PhD Programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine of CNC

Admission requirements
Applicants must hold a BSci degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent degree in other non-biological area, or a MSci degree. Ability to use English as a working language is requested.
Research work will have to directly involve CNC groups and targeted areas of intervention for the Center. Previous knowledge of both the center and its areas will be paramount to a successful application/interview.

The application must include:

Copies of academic certificates
Letters of recommendation (see form) , to be send directly by the referee to the Programme (contacts underneath)
The applications will be evaluated by a Committee of Postgraduate Studies of scientists participating in the PhD programme. The selection of applicants will be based on their academic qualifications, referees' evaluations and interviews.
Advanced Formation Scholarship
Contest for Individual Scholarship for 2007
Notice (3/7/2007)

According to the article 17 of the Regulation for the Advanced Formation and Qualification of Human Resources, the foreign candidates to the Doctorate Scholarship will have to own a Portuguese Residence Permit at the contest date.

Since the currently in process contest will end on the 17th September of 2007, all foreign candidates to Doctorate Scholarship must own a Portuguese Residence Permit issued until the above referred date.
Financial Support
Students selected receive a four-year scholarship from F.C.T. (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, Webpage: http://www.fct.mct.pt, by following the http://www.fct.mct.pt/pt/apoios/bolsas/estatutodobolseiro/ (Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica. The research projects leading to the doctoral thesis are carried out in Portuguese laboratories in collaboration with a network of national and international laboratories at CNC.
